Once an individual has
been arrested and booked in the Regional
Jail that information becomes public record.
However, after a person is released their
information is no longer available, unless
the crime was reported by the news; the
general public might not be able to obtain
that information.
Also the paper is provided for enhanced
community awareness, the more you inform the
public about who is being arrested in their
neighborhoods the better they can watch out
for criminal activity. Locked-Up is so
valuable to identify and expose repeat
offenders.
Each issue has a sexual offenders section
which provides details on 54 registered sex
offenders in WV. This information is crucial
to parents and school officials to help
protect their children. "A mother of three
little girls stated she had no clue a
registered sex offender lived right next
door to her until she looked at a copy of
our paper".
Where can it be found?
Locked-Up can be found in
various gas stations and
convenience stores. If any store
owners or managers are
interested in carrying our
publication they can contact us
through our distributor request
form.
The response from the community has been
amazing and our papers are flying off the
shelves! The more people talk about it, the
more they become informed and that’s the
purpose of the publication. In today’s
society it’s important to know who is living
in your neighborhood. |
